The schoolgirls kidnapped from Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State, have been released three days after they were taken hostage by captors.

Multiple reports have it that they are in the palace of the Emir of Anka for onward transportation to Gusau, the state capital.

Bandits had invaded the Zamfara school in the early hours of Friday to cart away 317 girls in an early morning raid.

There were no information yet to establish how they were released or whether ransom was paid.

Only yesterday, 24 students and 14 others kidnapped from a Kagara school in Niger state were released after spending 10 days in custody.
