Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister met a London-based Nigerian pastor, Sola Fola-Alade, and other community leaders at the Tab London, Lewisham as the country continues to fashion out ways to further drive its Covid-19 vaccination programme.

The Prime Minister made this known in a video he shared on his official Twitter handle.

In his words, “Hi folks, I’m here at The Tab. I’ve been talking to some pastors about the amazing works that they do to encourage the take up of vaccinations.”

Speaking at the meeting, Fola-Alade, who is also a Medical Doctor, said the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, developed to curb Covid-19 related issue, has been tested medically, adding that the vaccine is safe and effective.

He also encouraged those that have been inoculated to educate others to get vaccinated also.

In his words, “Not only am I a pastor of a church but I’m also a medical doctor by training. I do understand people’s fears and anxieties concerning the speed and the development of the vaccines and the things that are out there concerning how the vaccines were developed.”

Recall that Britain began its vaccination programme last December, following the approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

According to Johnson, the vaccination programme a “huge step forward in the UK’s fight against Covid-19, which has killed over 122,415 people in the United Kingdom, according to the World Health Organisation(WHO).”
