Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles Technical Director, does not believe the team can win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, saying only miracle could make the team to win the trophy for now.

His reasons are that poor organization still subsist in the country and also the failure of Nigerian players to play at top clubs.

Rohr, while explaining why no African country has won the FIFA World Cup on Newscentral on YouTube, said that poor organization in Africa countries was a major factor, saying that this remains the major issues working against the continent.

“Aside poor organization, the coach also noted that absence of quality talents also plays a major role in the failure of African countries not winning the World Cup.

“We are not ready to win the World Cup,” he began.

“First reason for me is the organisation, still a lots of problems in travelling arrangement, preparations and venue for games.

“France is the champions at the moment, where are their players playing? They are playing in PSG, Bayern Munich. Four of them are world champions at their clubs also.

“When you have your players in the best clubs there is a probability that you are the best team in the world.

“So what we have in Nigeria for example, we have our players in Fulham, in West Bromwich. It’s not Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United or Barcelona. But the other ones they have their players there.

“So it would be a miracle if we actually win the World Cup,” Rohr said.

Five Africa countries have another opportunity to contest for the trophy at 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana are the only Africa countries that have reached the quarterfinal of the World Cup, while Nigeria has thrice lost in the second round of the competition.
