The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution on police brutality on Friday compensated two victims of police brutality with N10 million each, following the final hearing of their cases.

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry was inaugurated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in October, 2019, in order to investigate the reported cases of police brutality in the state and the Lekki shootings.

Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd), the Chairman of the panel, presented the N10m compensation prize to the two victims, named, Adebayo Abayomi and Hannah Olugbodi.

Okuwobi added that erring officers who have commited the abuses on victims are to be sanctioned.

The panel made this announcement on its official Twitter handle, with pictures from the presentation of the N10m compensation cheque to the two victims of police brutality.
