Chelsea beat Manchester United 3-1 to widen their lead at the top of the Premier League on Saturday. The away win after trailing 1-0 at halftime boosts Chelsea’s tally to 34 points, four ahead of Liverpool who play Bournemouth on Sunday.

Chelsea produced a remarkable second half performance to shock Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Antonio Conte’s men recovered from Gary Cahill’s own goal to snatch a 3-1 victory away at the Etihad, thanks to second half strikes from Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho were both sent off for the hosts late on as the match ended in ugly scenes following a dangerous tackle on David Luiz.

The Blues move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table after the win, while Pep Guardiola’s side miss out on the chance to leapfrog their opponents and remain in third.

An absolutely crazy end as the players clash but there is a handshake between Guardiola and Conte on the final whistle. A very entertaining game as we all hoped for and a real statement of a result for Chelsea, who remain firmly top of the Premier League.

They trailed to Gary Cahill’s own goal just before half-time but roared back thanks to goals from Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard. A very important win for Chelsea.

That is Chelsea’s eighth league win in a row and puts them four points clear of Liverpool in second and City in third. Liverpool can trim the gap again against Bournemouth tomorrow.
