Lagos, Rivers and Taraba states led Nigeria’s Covid-19 tally on Wednesday, 17th February with a total of 381 new cases as Nigeria recorded 869 new infections.

In addition, 8 deaths were also recorded on the day.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its official website.

Lagost state led with (229) of the 869 newly recorded cases. The figure has brought the total number of confirmed cases in the State to 53,725, while its discharged cases now stand at 50,627, recording 377 deaths.

Rivers State came second with 6,177 confirmed cases. 5,694 have been discharged, while 88 patients have been lost to virus there.

Taraba state has so far recorded 657 cases. 466 have been discharged, with 20 fatalities.

Till date, 149,369 cases have been confirmed; 125,722 discharged and 1,787 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

According to NCDC, 377 community recoveries were recorded in Lagos State, 70 in Plateau State and 28 in Benue

Specifics:
The 869 new cases are reported from 24 states- Lagos (229), Rivers (79), Taraba (73), Oyo (66), Ogun (60), FCT (58), Plateau (56), Kwara (38), Ondo (38), Osun (24), Kano (22), Nasarawa (21), Abia (19), Edo (19), Akwa Ibom (19), Cross River (10), Delta (9), Benue (8), Ekiti (6), Borno (6), Katsina (4), Bauchi (3), Bayelsa (1) and Zamfara (1).
