A chieftain of the Pan Yoruba Socio-political group, Olaniwun Ajayi, has died.According to a source, Ajayi died in the early hours of Friday at the age of 91.

Reports say he had complained of pains on Thursday prompting his son, Konyin Ajayi, to take him to a Lagos hospital where he died.

Olaniwun Ajayi was born in Isara Remo on the 8th of April, 1925, to Benjamin Awoyemi Ajayi, a farmer and Marian Efundolamu Ajayi who traded in the farm produce. He studied at Islamic Primary School, Epe where he schooled for three months.

He was later enrolled into a primary school in 1937 and completed his primary education in Ode-Remo after-which authorities of the school engaged him to teach due to his intelligence and outstanding result.
