Former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has mourned the passage of late Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere, an Isoko-born politician, highly likeable personality and the majority leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, stating his demise is hard to bear for the family and the Isoko community.
The former Governor took to his facebook account to pen an emotional tribute on Owhefere who reportedly died of complications arising from Covid-19 disease Wednesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta state.
Uduaghan, a two-time immediate past governor of Delta State regarded the majority leader as a ‘remarkable lawmaker’ who used his position to better the lots of the Isoko people and communities, which he represented at the State House of Assembly.
His tribute reads, “I still find it difficult to come to terms with the passing away of Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere (KSC) Esq, Majority Leader, Delta State House of Assembly. Losing someone so dear to one’s heart is never easy. Hon. Owhefere was very dear to the Isoko people. He was a remarkable lawmaker who was an ever-present voice for his people at the House. I know the people of Isoko North are proud of him. His passing must be hard especially on his family. May time heal the sadness that you all feel with this loss. During these tough times, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in perfect peace…Amen!”
It would be recalled that Owhefere, 57, reportedly died on Wednesday night at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta State. Before his demise, he was a four- time legislator, and a highly loved lawmaker at the Delta House of Assembly. He represented the Isoko North constituency of Delta State.
According to many who came in contact with the late legislator, he was one of the finest politicians Isoko nation has ever produced, attesting to his sense of erudition, jovial disposition, and strong love for his people and communities.
Uduaghan, 66, was a former Governor of Delta State who was elected as the Governor of Delta State in 2007 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and was reelected in 2011 described “Hon. Owhefere was very dear to the Isoko people.” He added that ” he was a remarkable lawmaker who was an ever-present voice for his people at the House.”
