The Ogwa community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, has commended one of their illustrious sons, Mr. Emeka John Onugha for extending his show of love to women within different clans in the Ogwa community during the yuletide period.

The philanthropist had presented completed houses, food items and gave scholarships to a number of women in the community during the Christmas season. He also gave out food items ranging from several bags of rice, carton of noodles, bags of beans, beverages, soap etc to Ndiuhu Umuegbe Alaenyi Ogwa women.

The  Philantrothropist, Onugha is a businessman with interest in Construction, Logistics and Trading and based in Lagos. During the presentation at his country home, Onugha stated that the gesture was borne out of burden in his heart to share the joy of Christmas and New Year with women within his immediate and extended family.

According to him, the distribution of the item was to “express love to our people and their prayers would continue to help our business excel.”

Speaking on behalf of the women after the presentation of items, Mrs. Duruaku Justina thanked  Onugha for the gesture and prayed for God’s protection upon him.

She stated that in time past, Onugha had reached out to them especially during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. Another woman leader, Mrs. Catherine Anyamele thanked him and pray for God’s blessing over him. She further thanked him for the completion of the community Hall .

The gesture was equally extended to the families of Ibeto in Idem Ogwa, where the philanthropist handed over a fully completed five bedroom apartment to Mrs. Fani Ibeto, bringing it to about five completed houses he has built for  different families in Ogwa.

At the presentation of the house to the family, Onugha said the move was in line with his promise earlier in 2020, saying he was glad that he kept to his promise as the year came to an end.

Present at the event was Chief Reginald Nwadike, who commended the philanthropist’s  act of kindness  and pray for God to bless him more. Similarly, Mr. Augustine Chinedu Ekwuluonwu, the Chief of Staff to Onugha who spoke on behalf of their organization Altantic Shelters Limited, stated that the presentation was in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility of their organization where a percentage of their profit are earmarked at intervals to affect lives of people who needs such assistance.

Mr. Princewill Ibeto who accepted the keys to the property on behalf of the family thanked the donor for living up to his commitment. He expressed gratitude to God and the kindness shown by Onugha  who  have remembered their family.

Another illustrious son of the community, Mr. Augustine Uwandu, who is the current Chairman of Umuegbe Progressive Union, Lagos Branch, and was present at all the ceremonies commended Onugha for  bringing joy to the indigenes of Ogwa enclave once again.

Uwandu appealed to other members of the Ogwa family with the capacity to always reach out to people around them stressing that” collectively we will all have a better community.”

Another beneficiary of the Philanthropist’s gesture was Mrs, Ejiofor son who was awarded an automatic scholarship up to end of secondary school level following an appeal she made to Unugha.
