Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is open to Ozil leaving the club this transfer window. The German playmaker was freezed out of Arsenal’s squad this season.

Despite being the highest paid player at the club, Ozil has not featured in a premier league game since a 1-0 win over West Ham on March 7, 2020.

The 32-year-old midfielder still has six months left on his contract. However he is free to negotiate with other clubs on a move out of the club.

While addressing the press, Arteta revealed that the club is ready to do what is best for all parties involved in making Ozil leave the club. Arteta said, ” We will discuss internally what the best situation for him is for the near future, obviously with the player and the agent too, and try the best solution for everyone.”

Arteta also explained that “if something was sorted this month, it’s because it is good for both parties, it is good for Mesut and his future, and it is good for the club. If that is the case, we will move forward. If it is not the case the player will stay here.”

Ozil whose stay in Arsenal is coming to end arrived from Real Madrid in 2013 for a fee of £42 million. He has spent eight years so far and has managed 425 appearance. Ozil scored 71 goals and 147 assists in the his 425 appearances at the club.
