President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabara has commended the administration of Mr. Akinwumi Ambode for its pro-people policies as well as its determination to provide quality transportation in the State.

Ayuba, who led officials of the NLC and Management of its Labour City Transport Service, on a courtesy call on the State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, noted that the success recorded so far by the present administration is as a result of its commitment to providing an enabling environment for effective and efficient transportation in the State.

While noting that the operations of the Labour City Transport service is to provide subsidized transport for workers, Wabara said its ticketing arrangement as presently being undertaken is fraught with challenges.

He expressed the NLC determination to improve the services by expanding the routes it operates as well as leveraging the support of its international partners to improve transportation service especially in Lagos.

The Chairman also solicited the support of the State Government in resolving the litigation on the land allocated to it for use as a depot by previous administration, adding that the land is of major value to the transport company.

In his response, the Commissioner averred that there are several areas of collaboration open to the NLC which should be explored.
He promised to facilitate the quick resolution of issues raised, adding that the State will continue to partner with Labour in the overall interest of Lagos state.
