President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the shocking death of Prof. Habu Galadima, the Director-General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Buhari described him as a remarkable intellectual whose scholarly ideas have benefitted the nation.

Buhari on Galadima's Death

Galadima, 57, died in Abuja Sunday after a brief illness. His cause death has not been ascertained as of the time of this reporting.

Until his appointment as DG of the prestigious institute by President Buhari, Galadima was a professor of political science and taught for many years at University of Jos, specialising in International Relations and Strategic Studies.

Grieving his death, Buhari said: “Galadima was an eloquent and remarkable intellectual whose contributions to scholarship were vast and remarkable, and Nigeria will continue to remember him for these contributions.”

President Buhari said “with the death of Galadima, NIPPS and Nigeria at large has lost one of the best DGs ever appointed to head the institute.”
