Nigerian artistes Wizkid and Davido have advised Nigerians to shun anyone trying to suppress their voice. Popular Nigerian artiste Davido has said the campaign against police brutality is far from being over.
Reacting to the development on his Twitter page, the FEM crooner said the battle has not yet been won. He said those that were unjustly arrested during peaceful protest should be released immediately.
The DMW boss also said there should be an executive order, a legislative action and a judicial panel of enquiry set up to prosecute the SARS operatives involved in various crimes.
He tweeted: “I’m on ground right now in Abuja and it’s chaos !! Whaaaaaat????? Over 20 protesters were arrested for no reason and they must be released. they were shot at and arrested!! We can not take this!”
In a similar post Wizkid made a statement during the EndSARS protest in London where he addressed Nigerians.
Reacting to the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Wizkid said Nigerian youths have a voice and that the country deserves a good government.
He said: “As I speak to you right now, on my way here, the IGP in Nigeria has disbanded SARS. So Nigerian youths, don’t let anyone tell you you don’t have a voice. You all have a voice, and Nigerians deserve good government. Right now, I want to say thank you to everyone for coming out today. We have achieved our goal and this is just the beginning. Thank you so much for coming out. We won. Now let’s go home.”
