A member of the Delta State Post-Primary Education Board, Dr. Henry Ogheneochuko Ofa (JP), has dedicated his recent outstanding Humanitarian Service Award to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Peoples Democratic Party for giving him the opportunity to serve in various capacities over the years.

Dr. Ofa who addressed journalists at the Sweet Spirit Hotel Asaba shortly after he was honoured by the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN) with the award, stated that whatever service he has rendered and will continue to render is a product of the privilege given to him to serve by the various administrations of the state.

He maintained that he had recently received various awards in the past but he has placed much premium on the present award as it was coming from a critical body that is an unbiased umpire and a watchdog of the society.

Dr. Ofa said further that he had a natural passion for rendering assistance to the less privileged, adding that he would always get involved in any project that would positively impact positively on humanity, just as he paid glowing tributes to Governor Okowa and former Governors, Chief James Ibori and Dr. Uduaghan who appointed him into several government offices.

The former DESOPADEC commissioner made elaborate reference to the achievements of Governor Okowa in just three years, adding that he was impressed with his performance especially in these times of economic downturn.

He charged the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers to propagate the achievements of Governor Okowa as their contribution to ensure his re-election come 2019.

Dr. Ofa remarked that he had personally Chronicled of the achievements of Governor Okowa in a journal and in DVD which has been distributed to Deltans.

On the occasion which featured different awards to twenty present Deltans, Dr Ofa distributed copies of the DVD and journal to the “Lasting Legacies of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa”.

High point of the occasion was the formal handing over of the award to Dr. Henry Ofa by the chairman of the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, Mr. Jude.
