The appointment of Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) as the Director, Strategic Media Communications as announced by Rt. Hon. Rotimi Ameachi, DG, Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization can be seen as a premeditated and an ill conceived agenda playing out as a script, having passed his appointment’s interview when he (Keyamo) recently appeared on Channels’ Sunrise Daily to show off his penchant for power, which best described the postulations and vetupurations filled with vagueness coming from a presumed human rights advocate.

Most unfortunately, when one go through his epistle-like acceptance press statement, where he mentioned Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi as a decoy to settle down into his uncharitable political misadventure; describing him as a lover of Buhari as if he endorsed the president for 2nd term from his resting grave, was the greatest disservice to the legal luminary.

Resting on the preponderance of evidence and facts available which are crystally clear even to the blind across sectors of the state, it’s evident that the dearth of leadership in the current administration and aggravated assaults has brought monumental brutish agony, pains and total failure on the psyche of Nigerians. The failure is obvious in governance as premised on devolution of power and rule of law; infrastructure, youth development and women empowerment, education, health, agriculture and economy to mention a few.

For the man and party in power, after three years one can hardly boast of any of the promised ‘change mantra’ programs today, but instead they destroyed ethics and ethos of democracy, killed independency of the legislative and judiciary arms of government.

Such is the arm twisting and pervasive control witnessed in the polity on Wednesday (18th April, 2018), seen as the deadliest infiltration, invasion and hijacking of power ever recorded in Nigeria’s nascent democratic era, said to have been influenced by the executive arm in moving thugs to steal the Senate’s mace, our national symbol of authority masterminded by pro-Buhari Senator Omo-Agege, only to be found under one of the Abuja bridges, yet we say we are not a fantastically corrupt nation.

The PMB-led government has succeeded in plunging the nation into grievous economic recession few months to the start-off of his administration, through varous conduit pipes of corruption; subsidizing and round-tripping of foreign exchange currency by their cronies and further brought upon us an increased PMS price of N145 per litre (still not satisfied) under the false pretense of removing the fuel subsidy. Yet subsidy remains the evil ghost feeding fat on our huge resources. How about several announced and unaccounted for recovered loots now relooted; the $1billion security funds alleged to have been earmaked as part of 2019 campaign funds under the guise of arms’ purchase, when a recent report of former President Gooodluck Jonathan on same purpose was jettisoned; recent killings of IPOB members by the military, touted by the FGN as a terrorist group, while Fulani herdsmen are allowed daily to go on killing sprees in almost all parts of the country, only to claim they are remnants of Gaddafi’s war-torn Libya.

Perhaps, with all the deceitful toga of integrity clothing, corruption is still at its crescendo point. Insecurity has caused more damage arising from high-handedness and complicity on the part of government and security agents in shielding many corrupt officials in the corridors of power as profiting heirs of mal-administration. And the gross lack of cutting edge ideas and capacity to lead a 21st century nation has all been displayed by this administration.

Mr. Keyamo goofed and sounded like a broken record during his first baptism of work and outing which could best be described as a last kick of a dying horse and an irreparable damaged control measure to rescue the stalemate situation, making his charades, character and utterance debased reasoning and intelligence to its lowest ebb.

As expressed in his acceptance statement which put up more questions than answers all in a bid to protect his new principal, his defence further behoves fears, crudity and guileful attributes without substance.

We are all aware of the President Buhari’s age factor worsened by his records of health crisis since he assumed office, which allows for the unfettered access to our common wealth and national patrimonies by few oligarchs, feasting on this weakness, as well as the lack of wizadry myths by PMB.

In his new role, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) standing before a broken mirror of his newly found bride master will hope to press on with his yeoman’s job with shattered and shredded chameleonic images of deceits to again deceive undiscerning voters one more time.

With all due respect, the recent declaration by PMB for second term did not come as a surprise to many, for the avoidance of doubt, he (president) has constituted a presidential campaign body months before jetting out to London, what a saintly deceit.

Lastly, the uncouth and unappreciated speech by our President against the Nigerian youths describing us as unserious minded people, whose only hope rests on oil rigs and lack capacity to deliver any achievement at a commonwealth summit in London, is a prove of admittance of his grave neglect and abandonment of the youths.

Most ungrateful reciprocal attitude to the largest community of voters whom the president rode on their weak and feable backs to power during 2015 election, but now publicly mystified and vilified.

In fulfilment of the President’s ‘I belong to nobody’ speech hopes have been dashed, while the planned 40 million jobs’ provisions and unemployment support grants are now flukes and dead promises. Meanwhile, it was this same Keyamo who said on live interview on channels TV that the APC’s 2015 campaign promises are mere invitation to treat ‘sloganeering’ and not expected nor meant to be fulfilled.

This sinister move is meant to demean Nigerians as matured fools without navigation, however, one cannot afford another four years of long tribulations and unmitigated sufferings.

Let Nigerians decide the fate of the country they would love to live in before another hired propagandist sets us on a collission course as perpetuated by FFK during GEJ’s re-election venture in 2015.

We deserve fresh ideas and strong state man in 2019.
